And people wonder why I think religion is evil. Apparently the Catholic Church thinks it’s just fine to excommunicate the mother of a _nine_ year old girl who had been molested by her stepfather, and was four months pregnant, and the two doctors who performed the abortion because they felt the child could not safely carry twins to term. Do you think?
The real kicker in this story for me was that the stepfather will still be permitted to attend mass because his sin was not as sinful as the abortion to potentially save the life of a nine year old girl who had been raped!

Yeah, we were appalled when we saw this, especially the part about the stepfather getting away scot free. They're so misogynistic and clueless it's not even funny. Disgusting doesn't even begin to cover it. Oh, and a just to keep the misogyny tally fair across all culpable religions, a 75 year old woman is set to be lashed in Saudia Arabia for allowing two unrelated men into her house. The fact that she wetnursed one of them probably makes her crime even worse, as far as the Saudis are concerned.

Apparently fewer Americans are calling themselves religious or churchgoers. That should be some good news for rational behavior.
