Who is Melinda Snodgrass anyway?

After eight years as a novelist which included the publication of her CIRCUIT trilogy, and co-creating, editing, and writing for the Wild Card series, Melinda began her career as a story editor on STAR TREK:TNG, and wrote the Writer's Guild Award nominated script THE MEASURE OF A MAN. She worked for REASONABLE DOUBTS, and PROFILER, wrote six pilots, and had one produced and aired, STAR COMMAND. She is currently working on the third book in the EDGE series, has delivered the first book in a new urban fantasy series, and is starting on the second.  She has two screenplays currently under consideration in Hollywood.

 As the woman who wrote THE EDGE OF REASON, and its sequel about the dangers of fundamentalism in this country, I wanted to draw your attention to a fascinating article by Frank Shaeffer one of the founders of the Religious Right.  

 Here's a brief taste of what he had to say.  You can read the entire article here. 

"Yet if the Republican/Religious Right/Neoconservative agenda had come to full fruition over the last 35 years the Republicans would have plunged America into our own version of the misbegotten theocracy destroying Iran today. I know. As a former Religious Right leader I worked to make America "safe" for "Christian values" and dangerous to everyone else. Thankfully I, and those like me, failed."

Please read it.  What these people were plotting in secret meetings is truly terrifying.

Buffy vs. Twilight

This was posted to one of my chat groups, and it's brilliant.  Check it out.  It exposes all the sexist, patriachal crap in TWILIGHT.

I have neither read Twilight nor seen the movie because I pretty much sensed I would hate it, and after ths remix I'm positive I would have hated it.
