Wish I could have been there this year. Both of my trips to the lectureship were terrific.

I hope you enjoy Reflex. Steve did an incredible job living up to the expectations set by Jumper. I thought it was a marvelous continuation of the story-- the characters are older, and their problems more sophisticated, in much the same way that I as a reader was older, with different problems in my life, than I was when I first read Jumper. Great stuff.

Cynic though I am, I do think there's less racism in this country than there was forty years ago. It won't ever go away completely, but it does lessen.

And I still think a black man can win this fall. I just hope the Clintons are big enough to swallow their eventual defeat and get behind him if he wins the nomination.

I agree, Sam, because god help us if there weren't less racism. I think I was naive, however, thinking we'd begun to get past this. I'm in a pretty, make that _very_ liberal group of people so I'm getting a skewed picture.

At least Hillary finally admitted Obama can get elected last night. I'm guessing some party elders were telling her she'd never get another superdelegate if she didn't stop campaigning for McCain.

It still felt like she was campaigning for McCain. She's ruining her reputation, and her negatives are through the roof. She might want to remember she still has a political career and might want it to continue.

Perhaps. But she's politically untouchable in NY. As untouchable as a Kennedy in MA.
