A Favor
I was wondering if those of you who wander by my blog would be willing to check out your local Borders and see if they have my book. The two Borders in Santa Fe don’t have my book because the chain “hasn’t ordered it into this area.” The word is that Borders is in financial trouble, and they are giving a pass to many, many books.
On the other hand there are only two chains, and it seems my book isn’t in one of them which is pretty disheartening. So, thanks in advance for making the inquiry.
Meanwhile, if you want the book may I suggest Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

I checked with a couple of Borders stores here in Houston — one in my neighborhood and a larger one closer to downtown. They both told me the same thing — they do not have the book in stock and have no indication on their computer system that it has been ordered for the store. However, they did offer to order me a copy upon special request.

Thanks, Sharon, for checking. Looks like it’s a nationwide decision not to order in the book. Oh well, *sigh*. As Daniel Abraham often says, “We are all gamblers.” Thank god for Amazon, right?

No Borders near me. But I bought the book at B&N, which had four copies prominently on display (face up) on their main sf/f table.

Did not see any in the Borders here in Albuquerque either. I went though Amazon.com. I thought I saw it over at Hastings as well.

I looked at the downtown San Diego Borders earlier today and couldn’t find it.

Amazon.de has it in stock.
They do deliver from the US and UK free of shipping, but having a book in stock (24 hour delivery) is better, of course. And a sign they think they’ll sell a few.

I checked the Mission Valley & El Cajon Borders in San Diego & didn’t find it. But it is listed on the Borders.com site.
